12 Potential Signings from Leagues 1 & 2 - and Further Afield

Here we look at a host of names, that have both been mentioned and haven't. Looking at mainly Leagues One and Two, but also players released, and also from other European Leavgues. In no way shapre or form am I suggesting this is Forests shopping list. These names are largely selected by looking at bigger pictures. Also these names are younger players being bought in as squad payers or to develo, not to be first teamers.

The more obvious names appear higher up the list, before we get a little more left field with choices.

Randell Williams
Exeter attacking wing back. He can lay either flank, and at 23 has many years left in him. He played for Exeter in the Playoffs which the lost, and could available for around £1million. The option on either flank is appealing as his dead ball delivery. If we lose Cash, he could well fill in there.

Rob Dickie
Oxford centre back who has been linked. The 25 year old was part of the Oxford squad who failed to get promoted in the playoffs to the Cahmpionship. Dickie only had a year left on his deal and so Oxford have to cash in now. That said Oxford have admitted the offers coming in already exceeded what they thought his value was, so a bidding war may start and there is a lotof interest.

Luke Woolfenden
Another League One centre back to look at could be Ipswich's Luke Woolfenden. He spent 2018/19 on loan with Swindon. Ipswich highly rate the 21 year old, and he has just signed a new long term contract, but with League One facing new Wage caps, Ipswich may well have to rejig things financially.

David Turnbull
21 year old Midfielder playing for Motherwell. He was on the vertge of joining Celtic for a big money £3million move, before a knee scan showed he'd need surgery which curtailed the deal. He has a further two years on contract and unlike most on this list would require a transfer fee north of £2million. Yet to play for Scotland, he has represented them at every other level.

Jens Petter Hauge

20 years old. Bodo/Glimt 7goals 11 games. Has been linked with Cercle Bruges, and AGF in Denmark. As a development project and as a third choice striker perhaps or even back up, he could be a risk worth taking. Bodo are gunning for the title in Norway. Would likely cost around £3million.

Flynn Downes
Another Ipswich man, the midfielder is attracting interest from the Premier League with Crystal Palace reportedly having a £2million offer refused. Downes is a box to box midfielder, and with Forest having midfield options he might be an immediate target, but should we offload Carvalho, we might need a few extra bodies in there with Ben Watson likely to be leaving.

The following names are a bit more trying to think outside of the box.

Eoin Toal
Derry City centre back - Dawson isn’t getting younger, Worrall might be off. Hefele will be hopefully be getting jettisoned into outer space. As cover for the defence, and relatively young and raw, The Northern Ireland U21 centre back could be worth bringing is as cover. He would be relatively inexpensive.

Dion McGhee
Released by Man United, the midfielder is boing courted by some big European clubs in Porto and Rangers. This kind of transfer is not one Forest have often looked at snapping up free transfers released from the top flight, but they do work out. He is an attacking midfielder.

Largie Ramazani
Released by Manchester United, 19 year old Belgian forward Largie Ramazani is avilable. Reading some sites and blogs they seem to think he was quite well regarded but the emergency of Mason Greenwood has further blocked his route to United first team, leaving him to reject deals tolook for football elsewhere.

Denver Hume
We don’t need a new left back. Yuri is perfectly good. But what was shown up is that we need cover for Yuri and Denver Hume at Sunderland could be that. Young and enegetic and playing as wing back, we play in a way that requires full backs to get up and down the wings

Jordan Lyden
A 24 year Australian midfielder, who plays presently for Swindon but came through at Aston Villa. He is a defensive midfielder, and with Sow having a poor injury record and Ben Watson potentially leaving, it leaves a spot for a young Central Midfielder to step up.

Franck Bambock
A 6 foot French-Cameroonian Defensive midfielder, he presently plays in Portugal for Maritimo. His career has been nomadic, taking in France, Spain, Holland, Israel and now Portugal forclub football. He could be an option for a squad place rather than a starter.
