Transfer Rumour RoundUp - 31/07/2017

Here are the latest rumours for inbound deals

Kevin McDonald
So this is the main strongest rumour doing the rounds at the moment. Their manager Jokanovic does not want to sell, but the club looks like being open to the right offer. What that offer is open to guesswork, with any amount up to £6 million being mentioned. Midfield is the priority, and McDonald has been a strong player for a while. At 28 though time is not on his side. In his position we could get several top years out of him, but it does feel a lot to pay for someone about to turn 29 in the Championship. He would fill that gap in the midfield, and with the Assomba-wonga still burning a hole in our pockets it’s possible.

Jackson Irvine
Still not gone anywhere else, but link to Forest seems to have calmed down. That said we seem to have done quite a bit of work under the radar maybe posturing for other players whilst distracting from real deals going on, so perhaps McDonald is a distraction from that. Unlikely though.

Cohen Bramall
Young Arsenal left back on a meteoric rise from non-League in January. He signed for Arsenal from Hednesford Town, and the 20 year is highly regarded at Arsenal. A loan could be a perfect move, and one where he might not be expected to play all the time. That said if Arsenal see him so highly then they will surely demand more than being a part time left back. With several senior left backs ahead, it might be worth a bid.

Cameron Borthwick-Johnson
Agsin a young left back. Seeing as the rumour going strong is that a young left back will come in loan as cover for Traore, he’d fit the mould. He has been linked with moves to Holland, and had an unsuccessful loan at wolves last season. At 20 he needs to start provng himself. Theres no strong link here, I saw a few people suggesting his name, but it’s a definite possible name.

Lewis Baker
Unlikely this one as he is likely to get a Premier League club loaning him, but Championship clubs have been linked. The Chelsea midfielder  spent last season on loan at Vitesse Arnhem and is a key part of the England U-21 squad. There as we say clubs queueing up to try and sign him and give him a huge chance. Also he isn’t the type of midfielder we are chasing.

Cedric Carasso
French goalkeeper who is 35 years old. he has been a regular for the French club Bordeux, but has just been released. It would look a very short term move to go for him, and a cheap one. Whether he would be as an experienced back up, or one would assume as a first choice, it would feel very like the de Vries signing. Stojkovic is clearly out the equation and the No.1 jersey was left spare in the the squad numbers announcement.
