What They Did Next

Here we have a little round up of a few of the players who left Forest in the Summer.

Gonzalo Jara

Gonzalo Jara
After his summer release and appearing for Chile at the World Cup, whereas we all know he ultimately missed the penalty that put them out against Brazil, he signed for Mainz in the Bundesliga.  For Mainz he has started two games, and appeared in 6. Like with most clubs his versatility is what appeals, as he can fill in anywhere. In fact he came on in Mainz previous match and they scored 1 minute later. He has an interview on the Bundesliga website in English here  (http://www.bundesliga.com/en/liga/news/2014/0000303992.php) Where he seems happy enough with the next phase of his career.

Rafik Djebbour
Signed for APOEL in Cyprus, this means Djebbour is playing in the Champions League this season after the Cypriots beat Aalborg of Denmark to qualify. Djebbour has so far scored one goal but has been used solely as a sub and hasn’t had a lot of game time. Whether this is down to a lack of fitness which was always cited at Forest, or just lack of quality I don’t know. Djebbour did come against Barcelona in the Champions League though at the Nou Camp. 8 months ago he was scoring versus Yeovil… Bit of a difference.

Ishmael Miller
Ishmael Miller
Big Ish signed for Blackpool on the eve of the season, but too late to face us on the opening day. He has scored one goal for Blackpool, though with a hint of contention as he even told the local newspapers if anyone thinks that’s an own goal meet me in the tunnel. Meaning he’s very keen to get scoring goals again. Blackpool are rock bottom of the Championship.

Marcus Tudgay
Tudgay started out in the team at Coventry and was apparently seen as a good signing, but has fallen behind loan signing Franck Nouble in the team.  Tudgay just had an interview with the local press here (http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/football-news/marcus-tudgay-wants-stamp-mark-7813939) He has slipped down the order because he hasn’t found his shooting boots yet. The Sky Blues find themselves down the table in 17th.

Matt Derbyshire

Matt Derbyshire
Now at Rotherham, Derbyshire had found form enough last season for a few fans wanting Forest to sign him back on. He has reverted to type now he has a full time contract and hasn’t scored for Rotherham. He was withdrawn on Saturday and his replacement scored the winner 2 minutes later.

Kevin Gomis
After only appearing once after question marks over his professionalism, Gomis has returned to the French Riviera and Nice. Gomis has played twice this season for Nice, with them winning neither game, but he did stay on the field for the whole game. These were the consecutive games early on the season. Nice remain in mid table.

Lee Peltier
Now at Huddersfield, Peltier was installed as captain, but has now had that taken off him and given to Mark Hudson. Hudson had taken the armband when Peltier got injured, but that’s now been made permanent.  He has now played 7 games for Huddersfield, with that injury spell in between largely used at right back,

Jonathan Greening

Jonathan Greening
After being offered coaching terms but wanting to carry on playing Greening was released by Forest. We all thought he may drop a couple of divisions. Instead he signed in September for Tadcaster Albion in the Ninth tier of English football.  Tadcaster is a local club to greening so he is giving something back to grass roots football. He had been on trial at Hartlepool, but after a short period decided initially to retire before ending up at Tadcaster, a town more famous for its brewing.

Guy Moussi
I’ve left Guy till last as there’s nothing to report. Moussi appears to have no new club as yet and remains a free agent. He recently tweeted about attending a Crystal Palace game where he watched former team mate Adlene Guedioura.
