Forest Draw 2-2 with Barnsley

Forest came back from 2 goals down to draw with Barnsley today.
The Reds, like many of the crowd seemed to be suffering a hangover, maybe not from New Years Drinking but from the Derby game. It was hard to imagine that just 3 short days previous we had been so rampant.
There were 3 changes made to the team, with only one being enforced. Changes that would later be reversed and see Forest's performance improve. McCleary and McGugan coming in for Ramsey and Tyson, who were rested with fatigue, whilst Cohen was drafted in for Bertrand.
Forest had the better chance earliest when Cohen shot wide, but it was the other left back, Barnsleys who would score first. Hill burst through after stealing the ball fro Tudgay and had a free run at goal and fired home to put the Tykes ahead. A sucker punch to the Reds who were playing somewhat averagely.
Much of the passing from Forest was poor, not reaching destinations or generally not being up to scratch.
This continued into the second half, and Cohen playing as emergency left back was beaten and the resulting cross met by ex-Red Andy Gray to head Barnsley two up. To be fair to Barnsley they looked dangerous when attacking, putting in many good quality crosses.
The Reds then made the switches to bring on Tyson and Ramsey and then Adebola. McCleary had not taken his chance in the team well.
Forest got some luck when Gunter was put in on the right, and was fouled right on the line of the box. The ref appeared to initially signal a free kick, but then gave a penalty despite protestations from Barnsley and McGugan converted the spot kick. A well taken penalty into the corner, Steele went the right way but couldn't stop the ball.
The Reds kept pressing. Adebola causing a number of problems, which paid off when the ball went into the area, and after a scramble Tyson poked it home.
All in all an entirely forgettable game, but one that continued our run and keeps City Ground as our fortress. It also shows good resilience by Forest to come back from a precarious position.
One thing this game has shown is that we need desperately to sort the left back slot out. Bennett may be able to play there on his return, but Cohen was not effective there today. Earnshaw seems to be having a crisis with his finishing.Although he scored twice against Derby,he had a hatfull of chances and he proved wastefulagain today.
