After Antonios departure for the exotic pastures of the Premier league, and Jamie Patersons move to Huddersfield, there became the glaring question of who would play on the wings.
Forest were linked all day with Lille attacking winger Ryan
Mendes and Benfica striker nelson Oliveria, as well as Johnny Williams from
Palace. Oliveira is known from his time at Swansea in this country, and though
never prolific, has played at the top levels of Europe with Portuguese caps.
Mendes is a winger with injury issues playing in France, but
is an Inter
national with Cape Verde.
Noted for his pace, his online descriptions sound eerily alike to Michail Antonio, if his strike rate doesn’t. My knowledge of him dates back to a Football Manager game where I managed Lille. And that’s gonna be a lot more than others and I base my knowledge on a 2 year out of date set of stats put together from someones perspective of a player.

Williams is known, we have seen him play, seen what he can
do, so that’s a fair assessment when people are impressed if we get him. For me
it slightly speaks volumes about how reliable we think Cohen and Reid will be
next season. About their ability to stay fit, or even to the degree they will
even be able to compete at the level they once did. Reid has had a year off at
the age of 34. With his physique the likelihood is he wouldn’t be the same
player. Therefore extra players in there would be good. The real possibility is
that Reid will be limited to impact sub status, being bought on when we need
something different.

So when Fawaz tweeted later last night, the deals were done,
the paperwork was submitted before 6pm, there was a mixture of excitement and
some fans genuinely doubting the man. I don’t know why many openly doubed it,
but its nearly 24 hours since the window shut. It does take time for
international clearance to come through (as shown with Pinillos) so it’s a possibility
that the foreign lads will be done, it’s just complex paperwork with home FA’s
taking time to completed.
However, you’d expect Williams deal to have been finalised by
now in all reality.Whether there is a snag or its being saved for the loan
window I’m not sure, but the reality is a home based players deal should be
done by now.
