If nothing changes, and we know with embargo, big signings might be
hard dependent on various caveats of the embargo.
Goalkeepers
Dorus de Vries
Dimitar Evtimov
With Dougies recent praise of Dimi, I would hazard he might be pushed as a potential number 1 for next season. If he gets a couple of starts in the last games, then I think this is likely.
Defence
Eric Lichaj
Jack Hobbs
Michael Mancienne
Kelvin Wilson
Danny Fox
The defence is rather thin on the ground should expected
departures of Halford, Harding and Collins occur, and possibly Laing. With
Lascelles going to Newcastle, and Kane returning to Chelsea, option are limited
though, Roger Riera may get promoted to the First team squad. We will need
defensive options however.
Midfield
Chris Cohen
Andy Reid
Radi Majewski
Henri Lansbury
Michail Antonio
Chris Burke
Oliver Burke
Ben Osborn
Jamie Paterson
David Vaughan
Djamel Abdoun
Stephen McLaughlin
It remains to be seen what versions of Reid and Cohen will return
from lengthy layoffs. Reid of course is getting on, and any lay off longer than
a month at his age is harder to come back from. Cohen is on his third major
knee injury. That will be hard to come back from. Majewski and Abdouns loans
end, but they might be shipped out, and McLaughlin looks to have no future.
Antonio and Lansbury remain in demand, and Osborn has cemented his first team
credentials. Paterson remains an enigma.
Attack
Britt Assombalonga
Matty Fryatt
Tyler Walker
Lars Veldwijk
Dexter Blackstock
Jamie Mackie
Veldwijk is a failure, Assombalonga is out till beyond
Christmas, which leaves Blackstock, Walker and Fryatt (with his questionable
fitness record) which may see Mackie back in the frame. That or we flog him and
his excessive wages.
Aside from Darlow and Gardner, most of the first team should
be sticking around. Most loans have ended up being fringe players including
Lascelles, but Darlow has been first choice for a couple of years now and
Gardner has been a huge difference in the side.
